What digital formats does Digital Tunes offer?

A purchase of music on Digital Tunes allows the user to download the purchased tracks in either 320 mp3, flac or wav format (apart from some mp3 only releases).

How are my details protected?

All pages containing sensitive information are transmitted with secure 128 bit SSL technology. Our secure certificate is issued by Thawte. No plain text password are kept in our systems, all passwords are hashed for security.

How do I download music once it is purchased?

After music is purchased on Digital Tunes the user has five days in which they are able to download the purchased music via their browser. The user simply logs in to their account, and downloads selected tracks from the my downloads page. Tracks can be downloaded individually or a zip of all tracks can be downloaded.

Pre-orders can only be downloaded once they are released, you will have 5 days after the release date to download your pre-orders.

How do pre-orders work?

You can pre-order music on the store, e.g from the forthcoming sections, but you will only be able to download tracks once the release date has been reached. You will receive an email when your pre-order is ready for download, so make sure your email is configured correctly. Please note you will only have 5 days to download the track once the release date has been reached.

What payment methods does Digital Tunes accept?

Currently Digital Tunes accepts payment by major credit cards, visa electron, Paypal, ClickandBuy and Moneybookers

What happens if there are problems with my purchase?

If you cannot download your music because of a problem on our part, or there are problems with any of the files you have downloaded, we will be happy to issue you a refund or add credits to your account. Please contact us by one of the methods shown on the contact page, and we will do our utmost to get back to you within one business day.

What quality are the mp3s sold on Digital Tunes?

Mp3s are encoded using the lame encoder with setting '--preset insane' which produces the highest possible quality 320 CBR mp3s, which are suitable for all purposes, including djing. If you wish to have tracks in cd quality, please download them in flac or wav format.

What is flac format?

Flac is an acronym for Free Lossless Audio Codec. Flac is a non lossy music format, which means that the quality is as high as the original wav the flac was encoded from: no data is lost. Flac tracks available on Digital Tunes are of cd quality, but at roughly half the filesize. For more information on the flac audio codec visit flac.sourceforge.net

Does music purchased on Digital Tunes utilise Digital Rights Management?

Currently no music purchased on Digital Tunes uses any form of Digital Rights Management, as we do not believe there is any DRM scheme currently in existence that is of benefit to the consumer.
